Problem

The pandemic hindered children’s development of “Kinetic Intelligence” (Gardner’s theory) and we need to get that back without compromising their learnings.

NGOs like “Kantaya”, are helping to offset the educational deficits OST (Out of School Time) in the poorest places in Peru but…

HMW Question

How Might We, through the design of services and products can improve the education of “Kantaya” children while complementing it with physical activity?

Approach

Phase 1. Empathizing w/ the User

  • Netnography – Etnography
  • Empathize with the users (One To One Interviews)
  • Experts Interviews

Phase 2. Designing for the User

  • Usability Testing
  • Affinity Diagrams
  • Re-Design (Iterate)
  • Customer Journey Map

Insight

There are plenty of STEAM kits out there. They are expensive and that did not match the Peru reality; we needed the DIY approach.

Additionally, there is no tangible conceptual anchoring of Multiple Intelligences (Gardner’s theory) in association with the STEAM framework.

«We help the children of Ventanilla to learn effectively through gamification and the exchange between a theory that understands the mind with a theoretical framework that promotes problem solving.«
